allocation process/status

Hi,

Date Ordered: 07.09.07
Dealer Ordered From (Incl. City/State): McGee Toyota, Hanover, MA
Timeframe given for delivery: 2-3weeks
Color: Magnetic Gray
Option Package: #6
Your # on Dealer's Waiting List: unknown

I've saw the dealers allocation sheet the day I ordered. It showed vehicles InTransit to them with complete VIN #'s, and vehicles under "A" allocated with partial VIN #'s (the last 8 digits) as well as the color and package options.

How does the allocation process work with Toyota? Such as does a partial VIN mean the vehicle is in port, on a boat, or hasn't yet left Japan? How long does it take to go from A to F(Intransit)?

If anyone has experience with this, I'm trying to get a realistic date.

Car arrived on 7/23/07. Drove approx. 600 miles first week for 48.5 MPG avg. with 60/40 highway/rural-city driving.
