Default Midwest Flooding slowing delivery?

I am expecting delivery of a black #6 any day now, but was told it could be a couple of extra days due to the flooding in the midwest. I'm in Cincinnati so apparently our cars come from the west coast to Chicago and then down to us. Dealer said deliveries were slowed because certain tracks were under water. I have no reason not to believe them, just curious if anybody else has heard this?

Could be but since you are closer to the East Coast wouldn't they come from NJ?

Amtrak trains are not running through the flooded areas west of Chicago right now, so probably your freight is impacted by the same problem. You can get a status report on Amtrak's website for the California Zephyr or the Southwest Chief.

It does seem more logical that midwest cars should come from the east coast, but Fiona arrived via Portland, OR on her way to Milwaukee.

Thanks. I agree, it would make much more sense for them to come in through NJ. Not sure why it would come from the west coast, but from the moment they called to see if I would accept the color & package, they have said it was coming in from out west. Anticipated delivery is still listed as between 6/27 and 7/1 so I still have a day before it is "late". Pray and hope for me. I might have it by tomorrow!!!!

We bought our Prius from a dealer in Detroit. It was shipped in through the west coast, train to Chicago, and truck to Detroit. I went nuts watching the slow progress as I waited impatiently for delivery.

My dealer has told me the same thing. Mine is suppose to get here 7/2-7/8. I was hoping it would get here earlier. But, he is really doubtful.

I'm about an hour and a half south of Cleveland. My delivery was scheduled between 6/23 and 6/27. Still haven't recieved it. My dealer seems to have no clue about what is going on with it. He can never give me a straight answer. Arrrgh. So mine is already late!

ok, so I just talked to my dealer and here is the story i got. They said the computer changed the delivery date from 6/23-27 to 6/30-7/7. Then he also said that there was a transit strike that he knew was affecting the delivery of the corolla but he wasn't sure that it would effect the prius at all. I guess i'll just have to wait and see. Maybe that is what is going on with your prii "ssdhaines"?
