Notified 8/24/08 that a 2009 Spectra Blue coming in couple days, car data/price sheet given to me. Has 2009 MSRP of $27,574 w/ mats, ah well, if wanted cheaper, could have wised up, bought last winter.

Piercey called morning of 8/27/08, car came through Pre Delivery Service

Inspected, test drove, thought about it really hard, looked at it from a distance, decided to go for it with sales, business manager, closed deal, checked out, drove home, put her in garage for the night.

I hope you get yours before October. If you're ready to buy, can always call around. Some dealers take deposits, some don't, but let you stake a claim while a car is in shipment.

It's really nice. So smooth. Driving it home was the first time in bumper to bumper traffic (I've rented them 3 times from Toyota dealers). Sure enough, the gas motor is mostly off and it moves along on battery alone in the nasty traffic.

Congrats! If I could have found a Spectra Blue around here I probably would have gotten one. It's a great color and not at all common. But I love my Barcelona Red too.

You might be the first person on Priuschat with an '09! At least the first I've seen.

Coming from an '88 pickup truck, Prius handling is really smooth. It's also much quieter in the interior. I'm tall, a bit over 6ft 2, so sometimes need to duck a little to see out the side window near the forward pillars.

The biggest challenge is with myself. I'm meticulous with my stuff, so leaving the car parked alone is nerve wracking. I'll be ordering the body side moldings here soon. Changes the clean look a little, but sure to take some of the hits in the parking lot.

To the poster just above - sometimes I see a Spectra in the SF Bay Area. It's the most rare color.

Serraph on this board got an 09 touring last Wed. also.

Congrats....I'm always tempted to upgrade to a loaded '09, but then I look at my '05 and decide it does the job just fine.

Congratulations! Yea from my understanding the spectra blue was a new color for 08 which explains why it's a rare color. I ordered a spectra blue pckg 2 myself, it's been over 2 months but the wait should be over soon! SF toyota informed me that my car arrived at port on wed and should be at the lot any day now.
