Toyota's CS&S concept vehicle. Hybrid ICE/electrical motor drives the rear wheels, while a electric motor drives the front wheels. Goes up to 127 MPH. Holographic controls.

Y'know, those sure look like front-mounted water cannons...

Oh, yes, Toyota's slightly more conservative Alessandro Volta performance hybrid.

So, did Toyota industrial designers ever get over Batman: The Movie?

Um, Tony I have great news for you. The car you ordered has 4 doors and more seating and cargo space than those pictured above.

DAS = Doug Schaefer, one of the Elgin Schaefers who moved west in 1958. Are we related?

I'll put my order in immediately; I suspect the wait will be slightly longer than for the '04 Prius.

I'm a Chicagoland transplant. But I'll claim anything. By the way, have you seen my brother, Paul, on the Late Show with David Letterman? It was our grandfather who founded the Shaffer pen company, but since he didn't want to be associated with Schaefer Beer - which my uncle started - he changed the spelling of the name.

:-D

check out Toyota.com regarding the Volta!

".... the Volta's 408-hp Hybrid Synergy Drive (a 3.3-liter V6 with an electric motor for each axle) not only delivers 435 miles on a 13.7-gallon tank, but 0 - 60 acceleration in a mere 4 seconds."

woohoo! soo cool!
