"Absenteeism among hourly workers in the automotive industry runs about 10 percent annually, about three times higher than in other industries, according to a 2004 study by the Supplier Action Committee, a trade group.

At some Big Three plants, the study found, absenteeism runs as high as 20 percent. The figures include vacations, paid time off and medical leave..."

At Toyota's Georgetown plant, they give away 14 Camry's annually to people with good attendence. I forget exactly how they do it but I think people with good attendence above a certain level get entered into a pool and then they pick to see who wins.

I am entitled to 4 weeks leave a year and 11 pubic holidays. Working on a 5 day week I have 6 weeks of leave I must take each year or about 11.5% and that is without taking a sick day. Oh I forgot I have 12 paid days off each year too as I work 8 hours a day but I'm on a 38 hour week. so I have about 2 more weeks off totaling 8 weeks leave each year or about 15.4% still no sick leave. These are days I am paid to have off. I also get 12 days of sick leave each year which I can acrue. I have 4 months paid sick leave saved up and 2 months of paid long service leave.

When you have leave you are required to take that isn't absenteeism.
Sick days are absenteeism.

Here in the USA, probably the only people that get as many days off as you, is the CEO of GM LOL..Most of us working stiffs are lucky to get 2 weeks of total.
