Question Recommend me a good car shipping company...

(Not sure if this should go here or FHOP...)
Anyone have any current recommendations? I need to ship my Z from San Jose, CA to the Seattle, WA area in about 2 weeks. I'm driving my Prius but since I'm only 1 guy, I have to ship my Z.

5 years ago my company used Dependable Auto Shippers for my Z and former Maxima and they were ok (pickup guy was VERY careful) but the bottom part of the front bumper on my Z got scraped up and the plastic lip underneath had gouges (probably due to straps that went around the front tires). Fortunately, their insurance paid for the repairs (>$900) and I'm sure they lost money on me.

Just looking for current recommendations... This time, I have to pay for the shipping and have to find my own shipping company.

My experience is that the shipper is really only a broker. The shipping is done by auto hauling trucking company. So you really don't know what carrier is trucking your car.
They send a flat bed tow to pick up your car and then transfer to the staging area, usually a truck stop. When enough cars are collected going to the same route then they will load them on the carrier.
Last time when I shipped my car from CA to OH, it was one week late and I have to get a rental for a week. BTW, the bumper is also damaged.

To follow up, thank you to wdave on TiVocommunity for his Plycar recommendation. The car arrived undamaged.

The truck that picked up my Z had on board a junker Alfa that didn't even roll due to rusted brakes (caused delays for the driver), a brand new Porsche 911 w/the window sticker still on it and a Tesla Roadster on its way back to Tesla. The driver said his next stop was to drop off the 1 Tesla and pick up 3 more for customers.

The dropoff truck had my Z and a Tesla Roadster that the driver said was bound for a customer in WA.

If I were you I would contact a company called Reliable Car Transportation. You can call them at 800-530-2826 to get more information. I know some people who shipped with them and have dealt with them myself - they're a great company with great service and great pricing. They're an auto brokerage which means that they handle all the details of your shipment including finding a reputable carrier to ship your car, handling all the paperwork and financial transactions and making sure that your car gets to its destination when they say it will.

I'd definitely call them to see what they can do for you.
