Update #2: Toyota has officially posted on their blog that the photos are real. I have updated the photos with corrected aspect ratios thanks to the work of usbseawolf2000.

UPDATE: A 5th photo has been posted (perhaps the SOS button goes with the ejector seat button we've seen, or could it be an OnStar-type feature that Toyota is launching with the Prius):

And, according to Jalopnik, Toyota's PR department has confirmed that the photos are real and depict the 2010 Prius.

A PriusChat user, bossdowner, posted 4 pictures of the all-new 3rd generation Toyota Prius right here on PriusChat. Are they real, or just a fanboy's dream?

The official comment from a Toyota spokesperson is "No comment", but I can tell you that the photos are not part of the official "teaser" campaign that the "Prius Team" username has been posting the last 2 weeks, and that the photos were not posted from within the Toyota network.

Very interesting, they sure do look like everything we've been seeing to this point without all the body cladding. I wonder why they put the controls from the steering wheel on the display? That is what it looks like right everyone? I mean would we really need a 'visual confirmation' that we've pushed a button... Now I would love to see one more photo from the back and even more one showing solar panels and a plug in option

it is not just confirmation - it looks as if they are in wrong place... look at engraved stuff - it says mph there.

hm, i just had an idea - actual combination meter could be an 3D display, like on Yaris in Europe (just a lot more sophisticated). That might be why picture looks so weird.

its terrible quality picture that has been resized and squashed. You can not even notice that top part of console is actually completly black - it looks gray like rest of it...

I see in the shot from the front corner it has one of those sonar parking distance things in it now...

That's the only thing really throwing me though, the instrument cluster pic has MPH and other writng in a much different color than the 2 blue circles. Could they be more of a screen displaying the circls that chages upon stuff pressed? Ah, its all speculation... I would like to think though that if these are faked someone would have paid a little more attention to detail with that.

I say 3D Studio can make very good renderings. Take a look all the fake Mac products.

The headlight on the third picture does not appear to be feathered back like the one on the first picture.

Overall, I like the look very much. The body styling and headlights give it more of a sporty feel. Don't know about that center console though. Looks like i'll have to loose some weight if I plan on fitting in the drivers seat.

Oh well... I guess less weight means better health..... More fuel economy too now that I think of it.
