Interesting - they didn't rank them for environmental friendliness.

Quote:
Research firm J.D. Power and Associates, based in Westlake Village, California, has released its inaugural Automotive Environmental Index (AEI) study, which lists the top 30 environmentally friendly vehicles... The AEI is based on data from 4,000 consumers who plan to purchase a vehicle within the next two years.[/b]
Why not ask those who have been driving them? They're basically taking EPA data and making inferences from potential buyer responses.

everytime i read something that is from JD power, or consumer reports or much less any "automotive expert" review thing, i always get the sense that hybrids portrayed by them are odd cars with no consumer interest.

But there are some misconceptions. Consumers purchasing hybrid vehicles expected a fuel-economy improvement by 28 mpg compared to a similar powered gas-only vehicle. Reality, however, showed hybrid buyers only gaining an improvement of 9 mpg.

I don't know about anyone else, but I gained 22 mpg once I purchased my Prius. And I drove a 2 door Saab initially, who is onlly getting only 9 mpg improvement?

That was a lame page filler of an article.
