I mean, the school year is basically over right now. Ok, other than that probably typo this sounds great. Buses suck up a lot of gas, but they can carry a ton of people. However, when it's just carrying a handful of people it's not so great. Public transportation is only useful if used enough. Either way, schools will always have buses full of kids. Should cut down on fuel consumption a lot, if most schools end up getting the hybrid buses. I wonder how much fuel schools nationwide use in a school year? |

Seriously I think school districts would save a small fortune in fuel cost. as far as the school year they go by fiscal year so it would be 2006-2007 told to me by a friend who works at a college. I am glad to see it maybe more districts will see it and DO SOMETHING maybe our PRESIDENT will DO SOMETHING too. HE did say we were ADDICTED to OIL

I'm not saying it was his fault, but there are only two people involved in an accident. The victim and the suspect. This case being the kid and the person driving the car. Where does the school come in? Did they make him walk to school? NO. Did they tell him to cross the street at that moment? NO. Were they driving the car? Probably not, unless the driver happened to work at the school. Law suits like this are what make this country blow so bad. They have to blame stupidity on someone, and it's always placed on the person who has the most money. I bet you if a rich person had hit the kid that he'd have been sued instead of the school, and the school never would have been brought into it. |

And yes, in essence they did force the kids to walk to school by eliminating bussing...technically it's a combination of the city and the school district. Now, I'm not saying I agree with putting them at fault for financial losses, that's for others to decide. But certainly when kids have to cross a busy intersection it increases the chances of something bad happening. | |
