Bluetec and Honda Accord Diesel are trying to reach 0.5 Grams/Mile NOx emission to be able to sell in the 50 states. We will see the "diesel premium" when Accord diesel arrives. I believe bluetec is out already. Anyone know how much is the "diesel premium"? Note that, diesels only achieve about the same MPG as hybrids but are still part of the polution (not solution). HSD kills two birds (fuel economy and low emission) with one stone. Has anyone notice the HSD logo looks like a silver bullet?

I thought carpooling in an inefficient car would be less polluting than driving a Prius, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Apparently you'd have to fit 15 people into an SUV to make it so each one of them pollutes as little as a single person in a Prius. |

My Car: Other Non-Hybrid Package: N/A Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | That is indeed a very interesting article. But I see a few flaws and correct me if you wish. That study should show cars that were were produced before 1987. For example they should include cars and trucks if they wish from like 1960 to mid 1980's and then into our current year? And they should show the output of emissions on those older vehicles also. Now Also shouldn't the Hummer be rated as a light duty truck since it's technically on a light duty truck frame? |
