Let's just put the price up where it belongs and leave it there.

I think some people here like the fact that the gas companies are raising gas prices ( in fact, some thing it should be a lot higher ) but don't like the fact that they are making lots of money. Its a quandry to be sure!

Prices are that high in europe because of taxes. So let's just tax it. Tax the hell out of it.

Buy oil company stocks. Then you can be happy when the price goes up because it will cause less use of gas AND line your pockets with cash.

Is it wrong to pray for higher gas prices? I mean seriously, I would have NO PROBLEM with $20 a gallon gas. I mean that. But who would suffer? Not me, becuase I am a real estate appraiser that specializes in foreclosures. So the worse things get, the better for me financially. Are the oil compaines going to suffer? Of course not, they are probably in the same boat. The worse things are, the better their profit margin.

Aside from all that, I feel that the global economy is based on oil and in some degree gold. Therefore if we see oil prices double, then the global economy in general may be in despair. This might be closer than we think. WHEN the U.S. pulls out of Iraq (it's only a matter of time) that oil rich region will be in such termoil, I think gas will easily hit $5 to $6 a gallon very rapidly.

So I guess it all boils down to be careful what we wish for. I would love $20 a gallon, but that's too high of a price for the world to pay.
