Here's an excerpt for those who want a sample of the article, generally the OP does this, but I'll step in this time (the article covers much more than this):
Quote:
That’s why Honda is trying electroshock therapy on its hybrids. It’s working on a new high-profile hybrid—a Prius fighter that analysts expect will have the highest mileage on the road when it arrives in 2009. Code-named the “Global Small Hybrid,” Honda’s new gas-electric model won’t be a version of anything else in its lineup. Instead, Honda execs say it will be a five-passenger, small family car priced under $22,000. This time Honda won’t make the mistake of wrapping its hybrid in the sheet metal of its everyday cars: instead, analysts expect the new Honda will have the larva styling the Prius pioneered—which now embodies the green- car look.
[/b]
I read this in today's paper. A good article, except they still think people buy the Prius because it looks different. I suppose that happens sometimes, but definitely not always. Time for another poll?

I buy my prius because it is useful. It does not compromise utility for FE (ie honda's shamefully <strike>shoehorned</strike> engineered battery pack that blocks the access of the fold down seats).

I honestly hope that Honda and other manufacturers release vehicles able to actually compete with the mileage, emissions, and functionality of the Prius.

I bought my Prius because of the mileage and the large back seat.

Has anyone notice that other manufacturers are copying the Prius style in normal petrol engined and diesel cars? Fords Focus, Citroens C4 Hyudai have a car with similar style. By the time Honda do a Prius clone it will look like all the other Prius clones.
I posted links to photos in another thread I haven't time to look now, sorry.

Ooh, I know. The GM model should be called "Super Hybrid In Theory".
