Friends: 0 | Link to Newsweek article: http://www.newsweek.com/id/69534 which mentions the "little mileage miser." So is Toyota acting irresponsibly to come out in opposition to higher gas mileage requirements? It seems to me that the market for Urban Assault Vehicles will be driven by the price of fuel; I'm already seeing a lot more Prii and the price of fuel around here is still hovering around $3.00/gal. From the article it sounds like they're a corporation that is caught between being responsible to their shareholders and one that had the guts to market an environmentally responsible car. I haven't heard of one Prius being taken off the road and shredded like another corporation seems to have done...

Friends: 0 | Hi Rfred, If this makes Toyota a hipocrite, what does GM's actions make it? They also are against improved mileage (note I left out "standards", because one follows the other). GM has crushed EV1's to go out of their way to prove it! I think any car company that make the Prius-like car gets allot of slack from me. And any car which could easily make a Prius, or something like it, but does not gets nada from me (Chrysler, Ford, Saab, Volvo, BMW...). And any company that could outdo the Prius , and crushes EV1's will only get scorn from me. And coming out with this garbage in the press just makes me more mad at GM. Whether its them that are behind it or not! This is back-fire marketing by the Big 2.5, because I believe this is Detroit motivated, although I no proof or other indication it is. |
