Thanx for the lesson, Daniel. It worked just as you said it would. I arrive at my next permanent duty station there in Tacoma at McChord AFB in November; I owe you a beer. Two if you let me drive your ZAP.
Tacoma is about a 5-hour drive from Spokane, but since you're in the Air Force maybe it's only an hour away for you. Less if you fly something supersonic.

But if you want to visit Spokane, and are willing to get a trike endorsement on your WA driver's license, I'll let you drive The Snail. It's licensed as a three-wheel motorcycle so requires a trike endorsement to drive.

I'll take a pass on the beer(s) though. I'm a teetotaler.

The Mitsubishi MiEV pictured above appears to be a concept vehicle, since it's not listed on the Mitsubishi web site. A Google search provided several hits on news items with varying specifications. I won't call it vaporware. Mitsubishi is in an excellent position to bring a car like this to market. But it does not appear to be available now.

it's been a long time ... since this thread was updated ....

actually, the photo of the Mitsubishi isn't TOO "ugly"; i MIGHT consider something like that in an all-electric / local driving only vehicle ... but i wonder if anyone in these forums has actually come up with a photo of the Nissan electric car scheduled for availability here - in U.S.A. - in 2010.

i have found a video of "a" Nissan Electric vehicle - the "PIVO" ... but CAN'T imagine that it's going to be "the one" available in 2010.

to me, it looks like a goldfish-bowl on a wide roller-skate!

also ... i JUST read that TESLA is planning to come out with two all-electric "sedans" in the not-too-distant future; POSSIBLE cost of the less expensive one ... about $30,000 .....
