According to Motortrend and my other sources, this is the future timeline of Toyota hybrid technology:

My Car: 2004 Prius Package: #9 Nominated 1 Time in 1 Post TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 23 | While GM's screaming their first step from the mountain tops with the Volt, I have just had this inkling that Toyota's got an entire program outlined that will eventually lead to the phase out of almost all conventional vehicles in their fleet and, again, leave GM in the dust. That's not a bash on the Volt...I'd love to hear of something similar from Toyota, but I think it's the big picture that's the difference. |

Althought I wonder if A123Systems makes significant progress in reducing cost of their Lithium battery tech in the next year or so, whether Toyota will be forced to accellerate their schedule by a year. |
