The bulk of the story is an interview with a faculty member of a design college in southern California. We can only hope that this guy's outlook comes to pass. The NPR text lead-in to the story is: As gas prices hover above $4 a gallon, many wonder what impact the economic crisis will have on the future of transportation. Geoff Wardle, director of advanced mobility research at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif., offers his insights.
