Wise choice. When a product is selling like hot cakes, the last thing you want to do is change it and take the risk that people might not like the new version. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" (with respect to styling)

The Toyota Matrix is a perfect example of what not to do. The old one looks good and I see thousands of them on the road. The new one ... the exact opposite.

The Prii does have a nice evolution. Reminds me of how Nissan has handled the Z car. The Gen III looks for refined, I like it!

The "Old" Matrix languished for a long time in the Toyota dealer's inventory. All kinds of _Incentives_to make go away,you see more on the road 'cause design life span over 4 years. The new design is more inline with trend employed, Tokyo, Detroit,Milan,Sttutgart etc. And, selling quite nicely_without the rebates and 0.0% enhancement.

The shape will be similar, no matter how they spend thousand of hours in the "Wind Tunnel" or re-working the "Computational Fluid Dynamics", the result silouette will be very present "Priusque" and actual glamorous body shape! cd figure of under 0.21 will result in Prius shape...

This is NOT the 2008 / 2009. The wheels are different and the antenna pod on the top is different. The nose angle is sharper in these pics. It definitely looks wider as well.

It IS a Gen-II. Take a look at the front-quarter shot-- They used a very thin fabric to cover the intake, and you can see it's a Gen-II hood with the bump in the middle where the Toyota emblem is mounted and the Gen-II smiley grille.

The front hood looked more sloped because they used cardboard to cover it up all the way past the windshield wiper recess at the base of the windshield.

You can change the wheels easy, and it's even easier to change the antenna-- Priuschat sells a sharkfin antenna replacement.
