Friends: 0 | the Cadillac Escalade two-mode hybrid posted 1 unit. Ouch. Yeah, but they brought in 70 grand for it. I wonder if the new Honda Insight will add to these numbers, or shift sales away from something else. |

Friends: 1 | problem with sales right now is that they are maxing out their capacity to build hybrids... Next year, with Prius doubling capacity, new RX, new lexus/prius, and new Insight, i would expect these sales to actually double from this year. |

Friends: 4 | Those are pretty big numbers considering Prius' were still in really short supply. |

Friends: 3 | The reason the numbers aren't higher is because everyone is still waiting in line on the "waiting list" ... any day now ... any day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was sold here in Orange County because I saw it on the road about a week ago with the cardboard dealer plates still on it. That must be the coveted vehicle for the Paris Hilton's of this world. The "hybrid" is not about the earth to them - it's about "it's cool, but I don't know what the hell it does" factor. "It's better than the regular Escalade. It's like a Gold Edition, but it's like Green Edition or something. It costs more than a regular Escalade." .. "It weighs 6,000 lbs, but dude, it's a hybrid! I'm going green! Haha. Whatever the hell that means." ![]() Last edited by Rybold; 09-05-2008 at 02:29 AM. |

Friends: 0 | The data are meaningless. Try to buy a hybrid. They are sold out. Demand is greater than supply. That's all you have to know. |
