IIRC, the initial intent was to do a simultaneous release, but I believe the server outage that morning diverted Danny's attention. At any rate, I can only imagine how much work it takes to reskin the site. I'm a sysadmin for a smaller forum (non-related) and it doesn't look nearly as nice as this.

Well done, Danny. I like the new look on the front page -- I'm only missing my unread posts link on that page. I'm looking forward to viewing the forums in that look!

I like the new look too. Maybe this will be an opportunity to integrate other cars better, while sticking with the already created community here at priuschat (i.e. what you tried to do with hybridchat)?

Every since I started trying to follow all the posts on the 2010, I've been thinking it's 2004 all over again, with all the posts, excitement, speculation and fact-gathering. Felt much more like a time of renewal than the mere anniversary of the website. So I agree this was a great time to do this.

Everyone should thank their lucky stars you created this great alternative to the yahoo groups and the inherent limitations and constant blowups there. Everyone should also thank the moderators, who have done a great job of controlling the tone of the site and blocking trolls and personalities from getting out of hand, while keeping a fairly loose and open feel.

I sometimes wonder if any of you sleep, have wives or have lives!

I know I don't read but a fraction of the posts here and these guys are reading and responding to almost everything, while simultaneously posting at and following other sites I'm aware of.

10:30pm update: I've decided to hold off on doing the update of the forums tonight. I am going to try and catch up on some sleep and then update the site in the morning. So... you'll probably see the forums down tomorrow morning.
