Has this been confirmed for 2010s as well? The other posts I read said it was just 2004-2009. I got my Prius two weeks ago with all-weather floor mats and they were NOT clipped in. I spoke with the dealer today and he was shocked and said he would get clips for me right away.

EXCELLENT idea.

I had my car in for service yesterday with a district technician from Toyota Motor Sales and no one said anything about my rubber floor mats.

Looking at my mats (2010 OEM Prius All-weather mats), I don't see how it's possible for them to cause a problem when properly installed, i.e. not on the carpet mats, and using both grommets.

Like other people have said, I think this whole issue is because people can't follow simple instructions.

My 2010's mats are black to start with and clipped in properly. My 2007 are black too, but started off tan, and properly clipped. I would like to replace these in the 2007. Does anyone have suggestions for third party mats?

Also - all my mats are fabric. I saw on the NYT a picture of the all weather version which is hard plastic. So I assume the fabric mats are not included in the recall?

My all-weather are not hard plastic, but flexible rubber, including the ones in the cargo area.

It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.

Here's some more information on the floormat issue. It seems the issue might not necessarily be operator error in every case. The floormat hook design may be the cause of some of these failures.

Toyota floormats reason for recall? | Mibz.com

I have all weather mats in my 2005 Prius, and I haven't seen the mat move even an inch, but this does give me pause. I might pull the mat out of my driver side just until we get more information from Toyota.
