This is an inexpensive temporary fix to allow customers to use their floor mats again while Toyota works on a permanent fix.

Where do you get zip ties for that price. Lowest I've seen are 500 for $9. If you could tell me where to get 1000 for $10, then I'll be darn happy.

Just get them at home depot. You get 100 for $2.95. That will allow you to clean your drivers mat 50 times before you have to spend another 3 bucks.

BTW, the cheapest 8" online was 20 with shipping.

Was it really that the mats moved that killed that family? The anchors that came with my mats work just fine. Are the anchors really faulty, or is it because you put one mat on top of the other?

A Lexus dealer used mats that were designed for one car, and installed them.. on top of the carpeted mats.. on a different vehicle, i.e. using sequoia mats for a prius. In my opinion, and I do feel sorry for the family that lost their lives, but this is being blown WAY out of proportion. If the mat used was the correct application and had been properly installed, it might never have happened.

I'd love to have the 5 mph bumper requirement brought back. It's just absurd that current day cars can sustain $2,000 to $10,000 worth of damage in a 5 mph bump.

Didn't know that '98 BMWs had 9 mph bumpers. Solely by appearances, they looked like 5 mph bumpers (not like those '80s BMW bumpers that stuck out a foot and, I think, had little shock absorbers built-in).

There's this little tune
M*I*C*K*E*Y M*O*U*S*E
can't remember the rest of it.

I guess when your number 1 you don't have to try as hard.
