Default Prius Aerius and Aemulus

Ok, the beans are about to be spilled so I thought I'd give you guys the scoop first.

You know those two Prius that Five Axis is modifying for SEMA? One of them will get the full SEMA-style remake, with unique body kit, wheels, paint, audio/video, and redone interior. That one's called Prius Aerius, and we're keeping it under wraps until, well, SEMA.

But the second car, Prius Aemulus, is going to be a driveable close replica of the Aerius car (essentially the body kit and paint), and it's going to be donated to a non-profit partner for auction. YOU can bid on it! Then modify to your own tastes

The auction is going to start tomorrow at www.charityfolks.com/ema. You can check out a picture of the car now at www.charityfolks.com.

Trust me, the starting bid price is a steal! But we're speculating the car may not last long - there is a "Buy Now" price and some Hollywood folks will see it up close this weekend - so if you really want it, don't be shy. And spread the word!

Bonus points to the person who figures out why we named them what we did.

From the Prius' Latin heritage I'd venture a guess that it may have something to do with Romulus and Remus, the mythic twin founders of Rome. They were supposedly raised from birth by a wolf.

Is that Breakwater Blue paint?!? The last Prius looked good in it (I think it was a modded UK car) and the new one looks just as good. Offer the colour to the public!

Also interesting that they chose a IV to modify and not the V with the LED headlights.

aemulus emulating; envious; as noun - rival
aerius aerial, pertaining to the air

No idea why you chose to name them that...the aerius goes with the harmony theme, the aemulus is a bit more obscure.

Good one! Part of the attraction of these names, yes, for those in the know. But the names have meaning themselves.

Nope, a unique paint just for these vehicles. Offering the color to the public would be, um, costly.

And the IV was so we could get the Solar Roof on there. Yes, there was much debate, but at the end of the day we wanted the Roof.

Since these are being modded up the first two initials would probably refer to the 'iconic' AE86 Corolla. From one icon to another? A Prius for drifting....get outta here.

Ahhh ok. It looks very very close to Breakwater Blue that you guys already have. And Breakwater Blue looks sooo nice on the IS. Not so much on the RX (makes it more like a family car and your kids picked out the light blue colour).
