Monday Morning Prius Diary - Porsche Edition

This past weekend found me traveling to Knoxville, Tennessee for yet another Carolina football game (and loss). I spent most of the game admiring the gorgeous HD scoreboard that UT added recently, and was surprised to see an ad for the 3rd Generation Prius during the game. Pretty cool!

I also had the opportunity to drive the very nice Porsche Panamera Turbo. At 500 hp this car takes off like a rocket. It also has a ton of coll tech toys. My MPGs? 13.1. Here's a photo for you to drool over.

Well, I didn't get to drive it, but I did get to sit in a Bentley. Major Drool!

Not one of Porche's smarter moves. Once the tooling costs have been recovered this model will be retired.

I am jealous. I am extremely jealous. I've always loved Porsches.
I keep waiting for them to come out with hybrid sports cars. Prius mpg for when you are just taking it easy, but a true sports car for when you want it to be. I'm dreaming for now, but I know the day will come ... eventually. If we have to wait twenty years for oil to become a scarce resource before Porsche gets into hybrids, then so be it. But I know the day will eventually arrive. (PriusHSD+TeslaMotor&Battery+CarreraGT3RS-1000lbs = my dream car under a CarreraGT3RS body and on a GT3RS chassis)
