Decals cover metered onramp?

I live in Calif. and have the HOV lane decals on my Prius. My wife wonders if the decals allow "driver only" on the metered onramps. Anyone have a reading on this?

Yes, the sticker is good for unmetered "Diamond" on-ramp lanes.
Just don't go thinking it gives you the right to blast through a regular on-ramp meter if there is no diamond on-ramp lane for you to use.

"CARPOOL LANES AND ONRAMPS
A carpool lane is a special freeway lane only for buses and/or carpools. You may use a carpool lane or onramp if your vehicle carries the minimum number of people required for the carpool lane or you drive a low-emission vehicle displaying a special DMV-issued decal."

I asked earlier and did not get a reply, but given that those ramp lanes are marked with a diamond, signifying HOVs, I use them.
