Anyone buy for MSRP in So-Cal? I have a feeling my dealer may be jerking with me about my place on the list. I was offered a car last month, turned it down for the tax credit, and told that it would not effect where I was on the list. Now supposedly they have cars coming in this week, and MAYBE I can get one. Huh? Anyone know other Prius dealers that are selling for MSRP, and not jerking people around?

Assume you've tried Long Beach Toyota? Did you try Cabe? (Over near Long Beach Blvd---used to go to them for parts instead of LBT when I lived there.)

What dealers have you tried so far?

Another shout-out for Longo Toyota.

I heard Carson Toyota was going selling Priuses for $1K over MSRP after the first of this year.

Toyota of Hollywood and Toyota of Santa Monica supposedly sell at MSRP, but according to several posters here, they have mandatory add-ons like LoJack and paint protector that they charge you extra for.

This thread might help you find a good dealer to work with.

Hey, I just bought the prius #8 in socal. I bought from Carson but those usually sell at above MSRP, if you get a quote from a saleman before and he gets manager approval, they will honor it. They were about to let me walk out but when I told him I got approval that morning they got in contact with the sales guy and when he verified it, I got the price MSRP.

Try North Hollywood, not Hollywood, they quote MSRP.

Longo is the best because they don't screw with you in the extras and no pressure. But hard to get a car from because even though they get a lot in, they sell a lot and everybody knows they are good.

Glendale sells for MSRP, so does Long Beach. Just call everybody, that's what I did and I found my place.

Don't be a fool, don't pay over MSRP, don't feed dealer greed. There are so many dealers in SoCal that it's not that hard to find the car at MSRP, I did and found one in a couple of days. Actually found it the first day but the sales manager was a jerk so I bailed.

Alex

Just bought our 2005 Pk3 on Fri for 900 under MSRP from Keyes Toyota in Van Nuys. Talk to Brandon. He was really terrific. 661 312-1981 is his direct line. (Mike his manager is a pain and will make you jump through hoops but stick to your guns. Be willing to walk away. They WILL come back. As of Fri they had one more 05 and a couple of 06's on the lot)

Norwalk Toyota was also willing to do 400 under MSRP no add ons on an 06. Kevin is your guy there. None on the lot and a few weeks till delivery.

Symes in Pasadena, North Hollywood, Northridge and Frontier all quoted us MSRP too. However none of them had any available.

One caution about Frontier. they are also a dealership that will put you through the negotiating wringer. We bought our Avalon in 95 from them. But again, like Keyes, don't waver from your position and you will make a deal. The road might be a little bumpy. My feeling though is you never have to talk to them again.

Good luck.

I got mine in July from South Bay Toyota in Gardena. Paid MSRP and got the car within a couple weeks of the order. That was shortly after the stalling stories were in the papers, they might be more difficult now.

Do you mean you got $900 off a 2006 or a 2005? Is that a good deal? It seems you'd get more off a pkg 3 than that seeing it is already a year old. Just wondering!
