Talked to my replacement sales guy (the original one when I ordered the car "Left for other opportunities").

He said my Prius would be in towards the end of the month. It's in the color I wanted (Seaside Pearl).... There was some question since I changed my order from Pkg 3 to pkg none... Just the base.

He told me that it would come with the gray interior, not the ivory as that color came with last year. That was fine with me since I was stressing about that light ivory interior living in my semi rural area, with dirt roads, a gravel driveway and roads that they spread a brown grit on in winter.

I am still nervous about the purchase... You should've seen me when we bought our house.. I practically had a nervous breakdown.... always seeing the worst case scenarios ahead.. Probably because it's part of my job, mitigating risk.. Probably why I have a generator & hookup, crank powered radios, cell phone chargers, always keep about 10 cases of spring water (rotating the stock), etc...

BUT.... I get butterflies just thinking about driving away from the dealership... and cutting my gas consumption by 40-50%

I already ordered the Chassis Stiffening Plate, mud flaps... seat covers being shopped for....(they have gray colored genuine sheepskin at Sam's Club for $39.95 each)

But this is all small potatoes... My wife has to take her sister to get two lymph nodes biopsied tomorrow... The Doc didn't like the way they looked when she went in for an exam for what turned out to be pneumonia..

Good for you.
A reasonable amount of anxiety can be productive.

Hope a front end "protectant" of some kind is on your list. And a good tire pressure gauge if you don't have one.

Now breathe deeply (but slowly) and say

Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .

Hey Catskillguy,

I'm in the same boat as you regarding the car. What does the chassis stiffening plate do and where did you get it?

Right on the left side of the webpage, under PriusChat Offers

or this link

Everything I read on this board, says it makes a difference, most say very noticeable in the handling, from curves to cross winds to those 18 wheelers from Quebec flying by (at least by me on the NY Thruway...).

I ordered a couple of days ago, got an email that it is being shipped today (though he did say their stock was running low).

Catskillguy,

you know i'm just a small toll away from you up here, i'm curious as to what dealer you are working with.

i'm working with Lia toyota of schenectady. and my car was promised about the same time.

maybe they are car carrier buddies.

I thought I read here that the strut was upgraded by Toyota in mid '05. Not enough?

Have tire upgrade issues changed since '05? There were several discussions then.

Thanks, C

Now you have me wondering if it's still a 'necessary' upgrade on the o6?
