My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Does anybody know if the hatch gas lifts can be replaced with shorter ones? We just moved into a new house (actually, considerably older than the "old" house) and, when open, the hatch hits the open garage door. I need to limit the travel by a couple of inches or else the spoiler will hit the garage door. Thanks! |

My Car: 2005 Prius Package: #6 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I suppose it's possible. The problem would be if the replacement wouldn't be strong enough to hold it up. Remember the center of balance for the hatch would be off. An alternative would be to get some scrap carpeting and attach it to the inside of the garage door. |
