Sidemarker light question

When I turn on my headlights, the front passenger light sometimes comes on and sometimes it does not. When it does not come on, I tap the area lightly and it turns on. Does that mean the connection is loose?

I'd say yes.

Same thing happened to an Acura I had. After farting with the connection and assembly, I cured the problem.
