My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Does anyone who owns a front protector (bra) know if its possible to modify it to fit the 06 so that one would not need to remove the air dam in front for installation? What do the clips on the bra look like? Would it be possible to extend the sections that clip so they'd fit over the dam? I'd rather attempt to modify the thing than have to remove the dam to install it. We're going on a long road trip and would like to purchase a protector but are not looking forward to the installation. thanks |

Without my even looking, you'd HAVE to do one of two things: 1) get something stretchy like the black stretchy elastic the bra mfr. uses, and attach hooks on both ends; hook one end to the existing bra hook, stretch it under the dam, and hook the other end to ??? 2) actually replace the existing black stretchy elastic and hook (cut from bra with scissors) with longer pieces of it. You could re-use the existing hooks. But you'll have to sew the longer pieces of elastic to the bra---unless you want to do something more creative, such as using snaps, or industrial staples or whatever. It will not be good if the new pieces going over the dam have to be longer than a few inches before hooking something stable. Too many ways for it to become unattached. I'll look and post again in the morning.

No, I sure don't see covering the air dam as a problem. But a Prius engineer might. They added it for a reason, even if it's hard for a lay person (such as me) to see what it is. | |
