I was lucky and able to find the color I wanted and the package number 3 available 30 miles from my house. Came pre tinted and paid the msrp for it. Thank you everyone for all the great posts that helped me in my decision to purchase my new car. |

My Car: 2005 Prius Package: #6 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Hi slsmith66. Welcome to PriusChat, and congrats on the new car! Sounds like you really lucked out on the availability. Just think, a little less than two years ago, I was waiting almost 6 months for my Prius and didn't have any luck with my preferred color choice (blue). I'm certain you'll enjoy your new Prius as much as we all continue to enjoy ours! And if/when you have new questions about it, you can always look to this board. I learn something new every time I visit. |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Congrats on your new car. We just got one a week ago Saturday. I was going to wait until around the first of the year when we hoped that BofA (Wife's employer) would expand their $3000 employee incentive... But... I wrecked my commute car so it was "do it now." I had no idea that this earlier purchase may be a good thing. Waiting 'til 2007 would cost me a a better tax credit and I am now nervous about being able to get HOV stickers. The stickers were a huge reason for buying this car as I commute from Sacramento to the bay area (Berkeley, Oakland, Palo Alto) two or three days a week. The HOV lane will save me a half hour each way to Stanford. So far so good on the commute. Averaging a bit over 53 MPG on three round trips so far. I reset the consumption computer after a fill up in Vallejo and got 61.3 between there and Stanford. Holy cow! I am getting double (and then some) the efficiency of the Hyundai Sonata I replaced. I lucked out. I was ready to take any color but black or white (we already have a White '05 Chrysler Pacifica) and I was a bit partial to the red. My wife was not thrilled with red but agreed after she saw it. Once we decided on the Prius over the Civic, we went to two dealers. Found a red one with #3 and grey interior in Roseville that had just come off the truck and didn't have a deposit on it. Would have preferred tan inside... but I found one that I could take home that day after the mechanics did the delivery work. Thanks to the group for the tip on calling the dealer for my plate number. I have not tried it yet - will call tomorrow. Roseville Toyota has called several snce I got this thing and they keep saying, "If there is anything you need, please call." I haven't sent my survey card back on the salesman yet... |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Congratulations on the new car. I have the Barcelona Red with tan cloth as well. There are many good threads here and on priusonline.com and greenhybrid.com to get you started with most of your questions if you have any. If you do an internet search for john1701-a, he has a great website regarding the two different generation prius' that he has owned. I was convinced to buy one after I read the information on his website. Thanks, Chris |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Congratulations! I have a red #3 with grey upholstery. I was expecting to wait 8 weeks for mine, but the salesman called and said someone else's deal had fallen through (credit not good enough), so I went down the same day and did the paperwork, and had the car by Saturday. It makes the long commute to work immensely more pleasant. I find myself looking at expensive cars (Acura, Infiniti, etc), and find myself thinking "how primitive!". |
