Has it worked before? If not you may have to have that option turned on by your dealer. Your dealer will have to use their scantool to enable it. If it has worked before it may be the button. Does your other FOB panic button work?

I'll check this out tomorrow. I know one of them worked when we first got the car. It might have been the other one.

You do know that the red panic button must be held down for, I think, 5 seconds, for it to activate the panic mode alarms in the car.

THANKS AGAIN! You guys have all the answers. I was used to my old Ford button which activated immediately. I tried it, and sure enough, 5 seconds later I scared my poor doggie out of the garage!!!

That's a nice touch. I can't tell you how many times the panic button for my Jeep was accidentally hit in my pocket and set the thing off. Requiring a 5 second continuous press will certainly make that much less likely to happen...

Take it to your Authorized Toyota Dealer and they will be able to fix it.

Geezze, I thought there was something wrong with my red button on my fob too. Thanks! I did not know you had to hold it down for 5 seconds. The horn seems louder in the "panic mode", could this be true?
