Hello,
I've just picked up our new '06 white Prius #5 last friday. I like to cycle and run, etc. and am concerned about jumping into the cloth seats when I'm real sweaty and stinkin' 'em up! Can anyone recommend a nice set of seat covers that fit good, are easily cleaned and look good?

Thanks for the help.

There are several threads about seat covers if you look under the search function. Maybe they disappeared during the recent hackings but I hope they are still there. I got the $59.00 covers from EBay and they are fine. Some prefer the more expensive Wet Okie(sp?) covers.

Do a search and you will find more than you ever wanted to know!

I got GT Covers from online. They are a little more expensive but worth it. Just make sure whatever you get it takes into account of the seat airbags.

I don't think everybody that asks a frequent question should automatically be directed to perform key word searches -- as that requires a learning curve, albeit a small one.

Anyhow, for outdoorsy covers look at Wet Okole

Pricey but they work and look classy. We've had them on our Element for years and have them ordered for the Prius.

I got some at Walmart for $15. They look(dark grey or black) and just slip over the seats. I am just trying to protect the fabric from work clothes and fading and for $15 they do good. I figure I can buy several sets over time if need be and not be out a lot of money.

See this thread for an inexpensive alternative to some of the others suggested above:

http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=16631&hl=

The original poster (fshagan) had a series of photos showing the covers installed, but they were apparently lost during the recent hacking of PriusChat. Maybe if you ask him (her?) via PM, he could re-post them. I found them helpful.

The front covers fit reasonably well and look good. But read through the entire thread for a potential issue that some of us (not all, apparently) experienced with the Velcro on the seat back piece of the front seat covers. One of the posters offered a simple workaround, which I tried. So far it's working well.

I have not installed the rear seat covers yet.

The only pieces that don't fit well are the front head rest covers (as a poster in the original thread observed). The bottom flaps that attach to one another at the bottom of the head rest could be a wee bit longer. As it is, they are still long enough with some tugging for the Velcro to hold - so far anyway.

The covers presumably are easy to clean. The instructions say they can be machine washed. I haven't had the need to try yet.

I got covers partly for the same reason as you: I often get into the car after a workout. But I still keep a cheap auto-parts store "bi-fold" (for lack of a better description) cushion/cover in the car to simply lay in the driver's seat for added protection after a workout.

ttaylor, do you not have seat airbags or do the Walmart ones come with holes in it now? Our first ones were from Walmart (we liked the design) but were told by the dealer that it would cause problems in an accident if the airbags tried to deploy.

I just ordered the $59.00 from e-bay, excatseatcovers, I contacted the site and the gut said that the $59.00 covers were heavy duty compared to the $49.00 set that they advertise quit heavenly. Stated that they were Worth the extra $10.
When I get them installed { still waiting for delivery, been a week so far waiting} I'll post my experience with them. I also just ordered the leather door arm rest covers that includes the center seat cover, [center glove box} that sell for $99.00, I'll post as well about those also.....
