Can't believe that with all those in this forum who have purchased Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires,
and with the normally loquacious group of forum members that we have here,
that not a single person has responded to this question I posted early this week:

What kind of an impact has the Exalto A/S had on their MPG? Has it gone up, down, or stayed
the same over the long haul?

Stevejm

P.S. Couldn't figure out how to remove my earlier post on this topic ("How Do Pilot Exalto's Affect MPG?")

I didn't answer your first post, because you seemed to want to hear from those who had been using these tires for a while.

We put the Pilot Exalto 205/60/15s on our 06 Prius a few weeks ago. We've driven about 500 miles since, or a little more. What I see so far is about a 2 mpg hit from the tire change - part might be because the tires are new, part because they are what they are. I absolutely love the way they make the car handle . . . between those and a proper alignment, my Prius no longer feels like it wanders all over the road. These tires make it hug the road better than anything I've driven since my 1968 Camaro (my dad thought I liked the houndstooth interior, and didn't realize what I liked was the 350 V8 engine!).

I think the trade off of a couple of mpg in return for much improved safety and stability is more than a fair trade.

Thanks, Claudia. Really appreciate the response. I'd still LOVE to hear from those who are
beyond the break-in period. From what I've read from others, it seems that most have experienced
hits of 2-3MPG and then seen gradual improvement.

Claudia -

When you mentioned the 2-3MPG mileage hit, is that after taking into consideration the decrease due to greater radius of the 205/60? It's diameter is about 2.3% greater than OEM 185/65, which alone would reduce your fuel efficiency reading by 1.2MPG assuming you normally get 50MPG.
