Pop the canoe on upside down, secure the tie downs, and you're off to the races. The weight and length shouldn't be an issue - i have a 70 lb, 17 foot long kayak that does just fine, and i have had another 16.5 footer up there with it, no problems! my 17 ft one sticks out a little bit in the front and the back, but a 15 ft length should fit pretty much perfectly over the car. |

We use the gunwale supports from Yakima and carry the boat "upside down". We use the standard yakima cinch-down straps and don't tie it off at the front or back - but we check it regularly and keep an eye on it. Works great - see picture. -Ken [attachmentid=5400] |
