I was informed recently that I could obtain engine data on the display, such as water temperature, oil pressure, voltage, etc by clicking on the climate switch and hitting the tail (stop) light. It didn't work for my 2006. Can anyone tell me how to obtain this info?

That's the first I've heard of that. Who told you?

You can do it but not on the MFD you need another scanner to do it. It will plug into the OBD II plug under your Right Knee when you are driving. Check out the CAN View at http://www.hybridinterfaces.ca/ and do a search on the site. Wander over to the Tech Discussion threads. Your other choice is the ScanGage at http://www.scangauge.com/. Again do a search on the board and you will find many posts! I have used both and the CAN View gives more information but costs more.

Was that here or on PriusOnline? I'd like to read what he said. Maybe I can learn something new about the car ... and see if the 2005 will do it.

Regardless, I think you'll like the ScanGauge. It's been a great tool for me.

Is there a way to get oil pressure on the CAN-View? I've tried all the icons, but couldn't find oil pressure.

I have CAN-view. I asked the maker about oil pressure. Norm said it is not possible to make it part of the CAN-view.

Thanks. I am surprised that wasn't provided through OBDII though.

So, does anyone know if the scangague II will fit in the compartment under the radio?

Yes it fits in that space. If you want to mount it in there be prepared for the fact that to close the door, the unit must be taken out or unplugged and the wire put inside. Unless, of course you cut a notch in the door for the wire.

I mounted mine just under the compartment using velcro. It worked fine until I replaced it with a V4 CAN-view.
