This is really the only place where I figured it would make much sense to announce that...so, yeah. I sell cars now. |

My Car: 2004 Prius Package: #9 Nominated 1 Time in 1 Post TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 20 | Just be a good one...don't let the idiots tell you you can't be nice, respectful and patient and not make money. There are those who do it, you'll self-select a better clientele (though it'll take time) and move up. And I would push to make yourself the hybrid guy/Prius guy....come here often, find answers for customers, be several steps ahead of everyone else on what's up and coming and how the system works, the tricks for getting better gas mileage and all the TSBs and such that are out. Congrats on the new job and I hope we hear from you often on the progress. |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I'll second the comment that 'you CAN be nice...' Some years back, I got into car sales. I didn't know some of the "old 'rules'" like "You can tell whether they're a BUYER soon as they walk in the door." and "A man who smokes a pipe can't make a buying decision." and "Don't sell to the WIFE, sell to the MAN." Not 'knowing' these 'rules,' I considered every one who walked in the door when I was "up" to be a buyer. I went to the top of the board on sales and on profits... and NOT to friends, all were strangers. I even {GULP} called prospects back, drove my demo out to them for another ride... you know, weird things like that. Sold for awhile, then went back to my real estate & construction experience. Make your own judgements. Your Prius expertise should serve your well even on 'non-Prius' customers. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR NEW PROFESSION.!!!
