Replacing Rear Lamp Assembly

I am going to need to replace my right, rear lamp assembly. Before I do this work, will I need to disable the high-voltage electrical system first or is this area isolated from the HEV?

Probably not. What year is it?

All of the lighting in the Prius is 12v DC. Replacing the rear lamp assembly is not dangerous.

Thanks for the replies. Someone backed into me earlier this week and I'll be replacing my lamp assembly. Just wanted to make sure I didn't have to do anything squirrely.

Nope, it's a simple 12V system as seasalsa replied. If it's the right rear, you may find the 12 V battery just ahead of it. At any rate, if you have turned the car off, the high voltage system is completely disconnected from the cabling (both sides of the battery). If you are really paranoid (I'm guessing you are not

) you can pull the HV disconnect plug.
