Hello,

I just bought my Prius and I'm ecstatic! So far, I'm learning how to drive and maximize mileage. It's kind of like a game... I'm guessing you guys know that, though.

I purchased my 2005 from Carmax in Georgia. They had very little information on what options it had. Help me ID my package:

1) I have leather seats. They appear to be made of the same material all over.
2) I have all the airbags, including curtains.
3) I have the key fob that inserts into a slot; I'm unsure if that is SmartKey...
4) The VIN is etched on all the windows and I found ToyoGuard material inside, so I gather that it has that package.

5) VIN: JTDKB20U857034753

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Chad

Welcome and congrats Chad,

If you have leather seats and they are factory installed then you probably have the highest package available (in other words, you have all options offered). The key you have is indeed a Smart Key. You won't have to insert it into the slot if you don't want to....just have it with you in the car when you press GO. This convenience will spoil you in no time.

Enjoy!

Leather seats are standard on option package #6. I have seen leather seats on other packages as well. However, there was an extea charge on the option list for it.

Thanks for the greeting!

I definitely don't have the JBL sound system, so I doubt it's the #6 package. Perhaps the seats were an individual option.

I'll try using the key that way. I read about that option, but my understanding was that if you had a slot, you didn't have a Smart Key. Experiment forthcoming...

Thanks! I suspect that they were added as an individual option. I definitely don't have the other options associated with the 'loaded' packages.

in 05 the leather wasn't a standard option, so that was definitely done aftermarket. does your key have a silver toyota logo or black? if it's silver, it's a smart key. then you also have a small black button on your door handle to lock the car.

other things you can use to tell:
navigation
foglights (and therefore HID headlights)
self-dimming mirror (homelink)
6-cd changer or 1-cd player

then check below to see what you have. good luck

PKG 1
-inc: driver/front passenger seat-mounted side & front/rear curtain airbags •
PKG 2
-inc: security alarm, HomeLink garage door opener, smart key system •
PKG 3
-inc: driver/front passenger seat-mounted side & front/rear curtain airbags, smart key system •
PKG 4
-inc: driver/front passenger seat-mounted side & front/rear curtain airbags, smart key system, vehicle skid control, fog lamps, HID headlamps •
PKG 5
-inc: driver/front passenger seat-mounted side & front/rear curtain airbags, smart key system, security alarm, HomeLink garage door opener, JBL premium AM/FM cassette/6-disc in-dash CD changer w/(9) speakers •
PKG 6
-inc: driver/front passenger seat-mounted side & front/rear curtain airbags, smart key system, security alarm, HomeLink garage door opener, GPS navigation, JBL premium AM/FM cassette/6-disc in-dash CD changer w/(9) speakers, vehicle skid control, fog lamps, HID headlamps
