Default I'm in Da Club!

Took delivery of my Prius #9 Package Gold after about 4.5 months. Couldn't be happier! I'm 6'6" (e.g longlegs..) and still have enough head and leg room! The car will cut about 1/2 hour off my commute a day each way in metro DC. Couple of quick questions:

1. Any rubber floor mats designed specifically for the interior of the Prius in matching interior colors?

2. Why didn't the Prius have automatic on/off headlights like my Sequoia? It has the opening for the sensor and the lights control stalk is basically the same. Everything else is automatic...

3. I have a steep driveway entrance. Do the available molded mudflaps hang down much? Any pics would be appreciated.

BTW, my family own 3 Toyota's now..... All are Great!

COSTCO and K-Mart have beige and grey rubbery floor mats but they look like crap in the cool interior of the Prius. I too used to pick up slugs at a plus-or-minus 30 minutes penalty. Now the commute is much more tranquil. My license plate is STU&PAT. Not too hard to guess what my wife's name is!

See you on the HOV

Congratulations! Great car isn't it?

Hey, if you leave your lights on, you'll notice they go out after shutting down the car and opening the door. The only caveat I'll throw in ther is: Though the HID headlights have longer life and draw less current, they're expensive as hell to replace.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Prius, Daddy!!!

Here are pictures of the mud flaps (this is in the Album under Appearance Modifications--2nd page, I think).

http://priuschat.com/forums/album_cat.php?...r=DESC&start=12

Canada has DRLs, but they do not get the option of the HID headlights. What Ken described is the "poor man's DRLs"--you just have to be sure to open the driver's door after you turn off the car since that's the only way the lights will turn off automatically.

As far as floor mats go, I got some clear ones at WalMart ($15.00 for the two front ones). They have good ridges to catch and hold water/snow/etc. I believe they said they were for trucks, but I think they fit just fine in the Prius. There were two different clear ones to choose from, and I took the less ridged of the two since I live in San Diego and I don't have to worry about rain or snow. I actually took my OEM mats into the store so I could compare them to the selection they had there. They also had clear, ridged mats for the back seat available separately. I think the clear ones are FAR superior to colored rubber mats. I have the ivory interior, and the clear ones are hardly noticeable and let the lovely light carpet color show through. I am TOTALLY satisfied with them!

BTW my '91 Camry has 235,000 miles on it and it's still going strong. I was going to wait until it died before I got a new car, but I couldn't resist the temptation of a 2004 Prius!!!

Congrats on getting the car--you'll never want to drive anything else!!! :-)

Default See ya on the Road!

Thanks for the tips... and tricks. I got the Costco tan mats but they don't fit particularly well in the front.

I think I'll order the spalsh guards, they look good...

CU on the road all!
