Toyota delaying 2009 Prius launch...

I just read from InsideLine that Toyota has decided to delay the 2009 model Prius launch. Apparently, this model will have a new Lithium Ion battery. But, because of a "Glitch", the company has decided to wait and work it out first with the battery manufacturer, Matshushita company.

I wonder if this new battery pack (if and when it comes out with the next generation Prius) will be compatible with older version prius and available as an upgrade?

Sweeet... I think they delay will be worth it.

Matsushita is the parent company of Panasonic if memory serves me well.
