Really!! I got mine in white on the 13th. Evidently the dealer wasn't BSing me by saying the Prius equipt this way is getting harder to get. By the way, mine came out of San Francisco.

Well we just ordered a red touring HI package today. I should have a delivery estimate tomorrow. I'm curious if it will be an '08 or '07. As long as I beat the 9/30 deadline for my tax credit, I'm happy.

You should hope for a 2007, since the cars will be identical.

If you get a 2008 Prius in 2007, you'll have a full year's more mileage on it when it's time to sell the car or trade it in at the end of ownership. If you get a 2007 Prius at the end of 2007, you'll have a full year's less mileage on it.

Yep, I understand both angles. Quite frankly, I think it will be 6 one way, half-dozen the other. Late model higher mileage vs. early model less mileage. Probably break even.

I'm hoping we get the good ol' annual Toyota-thon blow-out deal coming out right about delivery time.

I would say the former is the best option...at least that my opinion. The your 2008 will be one year newer than the 07 when it comes time to trade it in...although with the 2008 being the last of this body style I would say it pretty much doesn't matter since the 2009 will drop the value of the previous body.

my thoughts

The "year" of the car has nothing to do with the length of the warranty. The "date of purchase" is used for calculating the warranty length. OTOH, 2008 will get you a bit more money at trade-in.

I am having trouble getting a #6 in white, mica or red with the bisque interior this late in the model year. Does anyone know when the 08's will be takeing pre-orders or when the car will be available.

A local dealer emailed me that they expect to see 2008 Prius models early in Sept. Quality of data: Who knows?
