As a fellow newbie on this site, welcome. Take your time looking around the forums, and use that search - there is just so much great stuff here. I am still learning how to max the mpg, and how to max the info from PC.

So sit back and enjoy both the car and PC

Silver Surfin' Maggie & Jim --- Let me try to follow your buying logic. Your paid maximum “Big Buck$” to purchase a “New 2007 Silver Touring Prius Package 6” and then start disconnecting safety advisory systems. Why would you disconnect a safety warning system like the "Seat Belt Beeper?" All you have to do is buckle up the seat belt and the "Seat Belt Beeper" will go off all by itself. Are you sure, you are not a family of "Crash Dummies?"

The next thing you are going to post here is that you disconnected the Back-Up Camera and disabled the Back-Up Warning Beeper. Oh yes, do not forget to disable all six air bags and the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) System. After your are done with that, disconnect the Multi-Function Display (MFD), Bluetooth®, voice-activated DVD navigation system, anti-theft system and auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink® and do not forget to pull the plug on all nine speakers in the JBL® AM/FM 6-disc in-dash CD changer system.

You could have saved lotsa money just buying the base model. You would a lot less standard and optional features to disconnect, disable and “Not Use.”

Party pooper!

My Pri always tells my backpack to fasten his seatbelt.

Turning off the alarm is AOK.

Just wear the belt.

Welcome Maggie & Jim,

I also have a Silver '07 Touring - don't you just love it? Glad you're here. Most people here are most supportive. Just take what you like and ignore the rest. Have fun!

Welcome to PriusChat, Maggie and Jim. My silver isn't Touring, but I love to drive it just the same. Have fun here on PC and don't be afraid to post or ask questions. If you find someone here truly obnoxious, you can set the board to ignore them for you, so you don't see their posts. I have a little list...

Damn catgic - mellow out! I, for one, found the beeping when I throw my camera bag in the passenger seat intensely annoying, until I killed it. Not sure where your axe grinding came from, but damn.

Maggie and Jim-

Congrats. Please don't let the odd, fairly harsh response to your first post throw you. With the exception of Mystery Squid, nearly everyone here is welcoming and helpful. Enjoy! Clearly you've already discovered the Mods forum. Got questions - there's probably a thread somewhere - just type it into search. Or post a topic - someone will either blast you with "Read the manual, dummy" or post the answer, or probably both. Hope you have great fun with your new car - mine has been great so far.
