We bought our new Seaside Pearl baby on Monday, and bought gas today for the first time -- it wasn't close to needing it yet.

This is the car's first 366 miles! We made it over 50 MPG by the MFD
Added 7.2 gallons (366/7.2 = 50.83 MPG)

Driving consisted of everything: streets with stop and go, rush hour driving, open freeway, up hills, through the valley. Four commutes to work, 32 miles each way and one day of play. AC is set to 68, on most of the time. Haven't done anything to it, including adding air to the tires. Every trip out has seen the mileage increasing slightly.

Sounds like you got a good one, and / or have already been practicing economical driving habits. I didn't ge better than about 46 until just recently, but the summer weather is better for mileage.

Keep up the good MPG. Glad you are happy with your new Prius.

You added 7.2 gallons but you can't be certain that you used exactly that amount. Don't make any more mpg calculations, the Prius will do this for you very precisely.

Enjoy your car!

Did the calculations this time to convince ourselves that our MFD wasn't out of whack! I didn't think she would break 50 MPG for awhile. This morning though, she got 53.4 on the 32 mile trip to work

Congrats on an impressive first tank. Isn't it fun to be pleasantly surprised from time to time?

If you are interested in tracking your mileage for the life of your Prius, let me know and I'll send you my spreadsheet. It's the [Current Mileage] link in my signature.

Here's hoping tank #2 is even better!

Goto www.greenhybrid.com

It has an online spreadsheet that you can show to all your family. I get e-mails every now and then from them telling me how good and bad I am doing. Very simple to use and its fun to see how people do around the the world.
