Nice, good to see the place. I've spent alot of time in that park, climbing, backpacking even a B.A.S.E. jump above the North American wall on El Cap. Your photos rekindle alot of fond memories. One particular night while being a camp 4 rat, a waiter at the Awahnee let me and a girlfriend make away with a couple of wineglasses and two good bottles after a particularily good climb.

Thanks for sharing your pics.

Thanks for posting - I just realized that I haven't been to Yosemite since the summer of 1976! I think it's time to go back again.

I hope you do! Yosemite is wonderful.....I prayed every night that the BEARS would leave
my new car alone! They are notorious for breaking into them and cabins if you have food
or nice smelling soap!

Gorgeous! I first visited Yosemite during the Summer of Love, and I was changed by the experience. I was back a couple of times during the next 10 years, and then I spent an entire Summer there in 1983. These beautful photographs bring back wonderful memories of long hikes, relaxing days, the smell of pine, talks with good friends and the value of keeping the land open, clean and available.

Did you visit Wawona and the Big Trees? I lived in a little cabin in Wawona, just down the hill from the Pine Tree Market, and I'd love to know how it looks today.

Someday, I'll take my wife and children and show them this beautiful area. This Spring I showed them the PCH from San Diego to Sausalito, where we ended our tour at the Muir Woods. We were close, but couldn't take another couple of days to drive up to the Sierras. Another trip on another day . . .

I was fortunate enough to be able to make it to Yosemite twice this year; once to enjoy it in the tranquility of winter back in February, and then again in May. The springtime trip was amazing, of course, as the waterfalls were all at full strength and the weather was perfect for hiking. We hiked Half Dome via the Mist Trail and had a lovely lunch at the Ahwahnee the next day

I had planned to return at the end of July to hike Clouds Rest, but I needed to rest my feet after having hiked Mount Whitney two weeks earlier

Ah, the Pine Tree Market, what fond memories

We stopped there in February on our way in to the Valley. Wawona is as gorgeous as ever, and it was so serene in winter. Without snowshoes we were unable to walk the Mariposa Grove, but it was enough that we were there.

I love Yosemite

Excellent pictures! Thanks for sharing.

My wife and I visited Yosemite in May. We flew into LA, rented a car (couldn't get a Prius, darn it), and drove up the coast to San Francisco ... with a "slight" detour to Yosemite.

What a wonderful place! And I bet those roads were lots of fun in your Prius!

Here's one of the pictures we took.
