I replaced my Toyota Tundra with the Prius. I might end up regreting it. Let me tell you, while owning the Tundra, I had to fill up every 3-4 days apx. 25 gallons worth of fuel. We have this 2 yr old Citgo station down the street that has a really nice car wash. They give you $ .20 off per gallon for buying a car wash. They start at $4.95 and up. Well, you do the math.. yeah, I got a free car wash every 3-4 days!!! My truck was spottless... Now, I go every 8-10 days and only fill 10 gallons max!!! I am soooo pissed. I actually have to pay for a car wash now!! And, I end up driving a dirty car around!! Oh, this ticks me off. Yeah.. yeah, I could wash it at home, but with working many hours and 3 kids fighting for daddy time, it's not on my priority list. So, I think I'm going to look at the new Tundras tonight!! They are bigger and worse MPG with a bigger fuel tank!!! Wow, I might be able to upgrade to the $6.95 car wash at no real expense to me!! Yeah, that's what I'm going to do.... 10mpg Tundra here I come.....
hehehehe... :P

LOL - thanks for the funny post ... you just knew that some would fall for the bait ...

If people only would appreciate good sarcasm and understand the meaning of "hehehehe" and "LOL" ... but instead the Prius defence mechanism takes over

maybe a warning sign is required ... like:

It was obvious to me that he was joking. I didn't even read far enough to see the smiley.

SURE HE DID . . . after the fact.

Besides, it's not whether or not those of us who posted in response realized it was Funny On Purpose.

We responded for the edification of all the other readers in the future who wouldn't recognize the original post for what it is.

The joke was funny. So many people taking it seriously was funnier.

Sorry, chitown, the sense of humour around here isn't what it used to be, Monday or not. And yes, it's usually funnier when somebody doesn't 'get it', but you shouldn't have to put up with this kind of abuse.

I agree. I think the trend has been toward the snarky and defensive in the past few months. People don't take the time to fully read a post nor to consider the ramifications of their responses. While we have our share of trolls throwing that label out there as a knee jerk response to anything one considers slightly negative toward the Prius is juvenile and probably worse than the real trolls.

We should be trying to "win the hearts and minds" of the non-believers out there. We should be demonstrating that we're a diverse accepting bunch with a sense of humor that doesn't take things too seriously. I think we can do that while still demonstrating a passion for this car.

It was a lovely satirical jibe at the real trolls who do come on here, posting that they are upset that they are only getting 40 MPG on their first tanks...

Beautiful.

I don't know what's funnier, the original post or the reaction to it.

Maybe you should have added 5 smileys instead of 3 and changed "hehehe" to "hehehe LOL ROFL hehe".

A blind man with a stick could see the oiginal post was a joke.

I don't believe it is possible for the average consumer (meaning you & me) to determine the origin of the gas flowing out of any station's pump. Now that the Mexican refineries are closed there will be a scramble to find an alternate supply.

Refering to the first post, it's a pleasure to come across an American with a sense of humour.

Too many times it's freedom, rights, democracy, fighting for freedom, terrorists, 9/11, boo hoo, guns, helmets & seatbelts taking our rights boo hoo.
Good to see septic tanks can have a laugh sometimes, now we need to teach your mates to recognise a joke. :P
