well my next question was if you'd ever kissed a girl but i think you answered that. LOL

i love star trek too and could probably give u a run for your $$$ in trivia but turning your car into a shuttlecraft. that's a little over the top.[/b]
My daughters have addressed both of these. One has nominated me for the sequel to Trekkers, if there ever is one. The other says this is the nerdiest car in the Universe.

trivia question: in "generations" at the end of the movie picard and riker beam up to what ship and what is the significance of the name of this ship in relation to the rest of the story?
[/b]
Lessee, there were three ships. One was the Boseman, the Farragut, and *damn* can't remember the other. Significance?

Guess I will have to re-consult the Historical Document on this.

The essentials of this conversation have been enshrined on my Web Page, which is still under development. Forgive me for not properly attributing all the quotes, but I have included a direct link back to here.

The relevant Historical Document is here.

To: Zhang Heng Shuttlecraft Crew and Maintenance Personnel

From: Commander Montgomery Scott, Chief, Starfleet Vessel Upgrade Program

In addition to the refit of Constellation-class Starships, the Upgrade Program has tested and installed upgrades to Prius-class shuttlecraft. Additions to the Zhang Heng as received from the contractor include:

1. Structural Integrity Reinforcement: This can be identified by a double X-braced plate slightly aft of amidships on the underside of the shuttlecraft.

2. Velocity Transducer Outlets resized: Permits better control of warp engine vectors by increasing the warp space interface.

3. Engineering Auxiliary Computer: Permits additional monitoring of warp engine and mission parameters.

4. Main Screen Security Access: This procedure has been simplified, eliminating repetitive and unnecessary security measures , and enabling stellar cartography functions during transit.

5. Inertial Dampening Security Sensors: Disabled since Starfleet Regulations require the engagement of the inertial dampening system at all times during operation of the shuttlecraft.

6. Aft Motion Warning System: The installed internal warning system has been de-activated and replaced with a system that is detectable both inside and outside the shuttlecraft.

7. Subspace Communication Upgrade: The external subspace antenna has been replace with a unit that is less subject to external damage, and which (minimally) improves warp efficiency.

8. Intermix Pre-Heater: Installed by MiddleEarth and Conflagration engineers, it takes energy from SpaceDock reactors, to increase the Intermix Chamber temperatures to near warp capability, allowing faster engagement of Warp Drive on leaving SpaceDock.

9. Velocity Transducer Aerodynamics: Aerodynamic rotational disks have been added to decrease drag in atmospheric environments.

10. Main Viewer Shield: Filters photonic interference from the Main Viewer.

11. Antigravity Generators: These emit blue photons during operations, visible from the underside of the shuttlecraft.

12. Weapons and Engineering Controls: Bridge Audibles, Photon Torpedoes, Phasers, Transporters, Warp Drive, and Alert Status are now visible via the Main Viewer.

13. Rear Loading Dock Access: The interface between the access and the aft shields has been reinforced.

14. Liquid Container Receptacles: Buffering has been added here and in the internal access grips of all 4 personnel access hatches, which are also occassionally used as storage areas, particularly for personal communicators.

[/b]
When I first took a stab at this list, the only one I had trouble with was #2. When I got to #9, #2 suddenly made sense because it reminded me of The Force's hubcaps. Very cool thread!

Since I had this past Friday off I watched all but about 1.5 hours of the SciFi channel's 17.5 hour "Enterprise" marathon. I would have watched it all except I had to take my son's forgotten lunch to him at his work.

There has been some discussion about the development of Cengtripedal Mass Neutralizers which, as some of you may know, effectively reduce the mass of a ship equipped with them, allowing the attainment of escape velocity with approximately 15% of the energy required to lift a ship of the same mass but not equipped with CMN technology. The CMN will likely be introduced to the general public within two standard years.
