But since it's only traveling 100 miles, it might not be that bad. For me, I put my name on the car the day after it was declared "in port" in Portland, OR. To get it from there to Chicagoland took more than a week. I figured that long-haul driving across interstates shouldn't take more than a few days. I've driven it. But there were stops and other destinations that slowed the whole process down. Also, there are prepping things done at port. I'm sure others here can tell you more about that. One of the things they do is remove a protective coating from the engine designed to keep the saltwater out. So it's not a case of "it hits port and immediately hits the road."

Maybe after the prius comes I can get some sleep. The excitement has given me an ongoing stomach ache for a week now. Please pray that it will comes soon. The waiting is really the hardest part. Thanks for the replies. -Robbie. |

Man, it was tough. Best of luck on a speedy delivery. If you haven't already, please do yourself a favor and scour the Files Library for all the pre-delivery checklists and other documents of things you should be aware of when picking it up. Also, there are nuggets in the threads but you need some searching to find them. Use the Search page and look for "delivery" "pre-delivery" "tire pressure" and things like that. |

My dealer makes it a policy of not telling customers that the car has arrived until the CO shows up (since he can't sell the car without it). When I went to pick up my car, it turned out the car had been physically present at the dealership for days before the CO arrived in the mail. |
