I've heard stories that the 12v battery wont hold a charge with door lights on for too long. I know they will have the doors open for at least an hour. Any suggestions with regard to door lights. Vehicle has only 700 miles, so I know the battery is in great shape.

If you're worried about it you can turn the interior lights to off and then they won't go on at all. FWIW, when I got my windows tinted this didn't cross my mind and everything worked out fine.

Don't worry about it. Although the 12v battery isn't very big and doesn't hold a large amoung of Cold Cranking Amps, it should hold up to a few door lights for a couple of hours just fine. Remeber that if it does go dead (possibly on another occasion) you can easily jumpstart the car from the 12v connection located under the hood and from experiance I can tell you that the 12v batteries are remarkably good at regaining their charge and last very well.

Enjoy your Prius!!

No Problem! Hey, if you don't mind me asking.... Where did you buy your Prius? Just curious if you bought it from my Boss? I work at Earl Stewart Toyota in Lake Park.

Good thinking...because when I had mine tinted when I picked the car up the Traction battery was the lowest I have ever seen. I forget what color the one bar graph was as its never been that low since but it was alarming. I think they had the radio on the whole time too. It started up fine and ran fine but made some
really weird noises (more than the usual pump sounds) I had not heard before like loud clicking sounds from the inverter area on acceleration for the ride home but the next day was fine and have not heard those noises since. Take it on a nice 20-30 minute charging cruise after the tint and it'll be fine but your right on the mark though. The car does not like the traction battery going that low.

Just had mine tinted last Saturday, absolutely no problem having all 4 doors and hatchback open for an hour and some change...not to mention the headlights (forgot to turn them off)

i would worry more about them slicing the window insulation or burning
the plastic around the window with the heat gun then the prius needing a jump start
