maint. light blinks a few times after car starts

is it normal? i am at about 4600 miles now is it a indicator on time for oil change?
how do you get rid of it if i do the oil change myself? thanks

Yup, that's normal. 4,500 miles since the previous reset triggers that flashing reminder. 500 miles later, the reminder will stay on constantly until you reset it.
