New colors for '08?

I've seen 2 blue Prii this week. Never see anyone here say they have a blue one - I've seen black, white, silver, grey, green and a couple of shade of red mentioned, but not blue. Is it a brand new color?

There are currently 2 shades of blue for the Prius. The lighter shade, Seaside Pearl is at least a few years old. There is also a darker shade, new for 2008, known as Spectra Blue Mica.

Thanks! It never occured to me that "Seaside Pearl" was a shade of blue. Emphasis on the Seaside rather than the Pearl.
The two I saw must have been the Spectra Blue. It's beautiful.

Spectra Blue is a new color for 08. We loved that color and ordered one.

I missed out on the Spectra Blue by one model year.

Not that I'm not overjoyed with my beautiful Silver Pine Mica but the new blue color is absolutely gorgeous. The other color I wish had been available in 2007 is the Salsa Red. I'm not normally a fan of red cars but I really liked the deep color on that one.

Am I correct in saying that the 2008 Prii sold in Canada have some different colo(u)r choices than in other markets?
The 2008 brochure I have in front of me shows: Silver Pine Mica, Black, Seaside Pearl, Driftwood Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic , Barcelona Red Metallic, Alpine White and Magnetic Grey Metallic. I don't see a blue.

Correct.

Just like how we didn't get Magnetic Grey for 2006. We got it in 2007, one year after the US gets it. No idea why.

I had really hoped the Spectra Blue would be available for my 2008 purchase, but alas, I had to settle for Seaside Pearl (which is equally pretty, just not in the same way).

Hopefully when I decide to pick up a next-gen Prius in a few years, they'll have a delicious assortment of colours available.

the new spectra blue mica is really really cool...... when clean, the reflections and high gloss appearance looks just GREAT!!
